Responsibilities

As an Ambulatory Clinical Social Worker at Bowyer Clinic, I provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families. Some of my responsibilities include:

  • Helping patients navigate the healthcare system
  • Assisting with practical needs such as financial aid, transportation, and disability benefits
  • Conducting psychosocial assessments and developing personalized care plans for patients undergoing TIL Therapy, CAR-T Therapy, and Stem Cell Transplant
  • Coordinating resources and advocating for patients' overall well-being and quality of life as a crucial member of the multidisciplinary care team

Training and Professional Experience

I graduated from Mount Saint Mary's University, Los Angeles, in 2015 with a B.S. in Sociology, with an emphasis in Medical Sociology. After undergrad, I worked at Holy Cross Mortuary in Culver City as an assistant funeral director. My experience at the mortuary allowed me to support grieving families and develop skills in empathetic communication and crisis management. While working at the mortuary, I was enrolled in the Social Work Master's Program at USC. I later graduated with my MSW, with an emphasis in Adult Mental Health and Wellness, in 2018.

In 2019, I began my employment at UCLA as an inpatient clinical social worker. I have experience working with medical-surgical, pediatric eating disorder, and hematology-oncology patients. In 2024, I transferred to the outpatient setting to broaden my clinical skills in oncology.

Personal Interests

I love cats! I have one furbaby named Oreo. I always enjoy coming home to her running to the door to greet me. I practice self-care by blasting Taylor Swift on my commute home and making friendship bracelets. I am a Kindle girly who loves to cuddle up with my cat on the weekends to read a good novella. I love Christmas and Hallmark movies! I enjoy a nice tea latte from Coffee Bean. Lastly, I love sports—Warriors, 49ers, SF Giants, Las Vegas Aces, and Golden Knights!
