Dr. Hall is an Assistant Clinical Professor and psychiatrist and psychological anthropologist. He sees patients at FHC and the UCLA CARE clinic, and participates in both clinical and ethnographic research.
After completing his A.B. at Harvard in medieval history and literature, Timothy joined the Medical Scientist Training Program at UCSD, where he received his MD and a PhD in psychological anthropology. His dissertation fieldwork examined processes of sexual identity and mental health concerns among gay and bisexual men in Prague, Czech Republic. He then did postdoctoral studies at University of Chicago in Human Development and the Center on Aging at NORC. He came to UCLA in 2007 for residency in adult psychiatry, and joined the Department of Family Medicine in 2011 as a postdoctoral fellow in addiction medicine.
