The UCLA Department of Medicine provides diverse research training opportunities across laboratory and formal programs. UCLA-Caltech Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP)
Our MSTP is dedicated to educating and training exceptionally qualified individuals for careers in the biomedical and sociomedical sciences.
STAR Physician-Scientist Training Program (PSTP)
The STAR-PSTP provides opportunities for maintaining research exposure during residency training for internal medicine residents (PGY1-2/3) who have experience in research and are committed to a career as a physician-scientist.
Specialty Training and Advanced Research (STAR) Program
The STAR Program provides aspiring physician-scientists formal, dedicated research training concurrent with clinical residency or fellowship for both MD-PhD graduates and for those wishing to obtain a PhD.
Master of Science in Clinical Research (MSCR) Program
The MSCR Program, leading to a Master of Science in Clinical Research graduate degree, is designed to develop physician scientists interested in clinical research or biomedical informatics
