Dr. Hsu emphasizes on comprehensive evaluation and consultation, multimodal analgesia, interventional and interdisciplinary approach to promote pain management and functional restoration. Dr. Hsu teaches class in fourth year medical student, Anesthesiology Residency Program, and Pain Medicine Fellowship at UCLA. Dr. Hsu is board certified in Anesthesiology and has a subspecialty certificate and recertification in Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Hsu is first author of the book "Problem Based Pain Management" and editor/author of the book "Acupuncture and Pain Management". Dr. Hsu has been a faculty member of "Acupuncture Workshop" at the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. Dr. Hsu serves on the editorial board of the "Journal of Medical Acupuncture";.
As an invited lecturer on continued medical education programs, Dr. Hsu has delivered presentations on topics including acute and chronic pain management in elderly, herpes zoster and postherpetic neuralgia, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy and Causalgia), myofascial pain syndrome and fibromyalgia, cancer pain, and complimentary and alternative pain management (CAM).
