Irene Hendrickson, MD

About

Dr. Hendrickson graduated from UCLA, then completed Medical School, Internship and Residency in Pediatrics at the David Geffen UCLA School of Medicine. She joined the UCLA General Pediatrics faculty in 2002, participating in the education of students in the School of Medicine, the School of Nursing, and the School of Dentistry. Her faculty practice is in the 200 Medical Plaza, Suite 265, where she conducts Well Child Check-ups, trains pediatric students, Nurse Practitioner students and pediatric residents in Urgent Care Clinic and the Residents' Continuity Clinic.

She is also the Director of the UCLA Craniofacial Special Care Center, a multidisciplinary clinic to address the needs of children with craniofacial anomalies. The weekly Craniofacial Clinic is also in Suite 265, Module 4, on Wednesdays.

Dr. Hendrickson has been the Course Chair of Pediatric Medicine in the School of Dentistry since 2002, teaching dental post-docs who have chosen a subspecialty in pediatric dental care about general medical care of the pediatric patient, well child routines and normal developmental milestones in the clinical setting, and some exposure to abnormalities including failure to thrive, Cardiac and Gastrointestinal anomalies, rare diseases and genetic disorders, developmental delay vs disability and pediatric abuse or neglect.

Dr. Hendrickson grew up in Santa Cruz before moving to Los Angeles in 1987 to begin her college education and training. She has been married since 1981 and enjoys travel, art, reading, opera, jazz, swimming, and gardening with her husband. They went skydiving for their 38th anniversary.
