Laura Wozniak is currently Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at UCLA. After earning a B.S. in Physiological Sciences from UCLA, Dr. Wozniak attended medical school in New York at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She then returned to UCLA for her pediatric residency and gastroenterology fellowship. Dr. Wozniak is board-certified in pediatric gastroenterology and clinical pharmacology. She also received an MS in Health Services from the UCLA School of Public Health.
Dr. Wozniak is actively involved in the UCLA Pediatric Liver Transplant Program from both a clinical and research perspective. She has been funded by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and the UCLA Children's Discovery and Innovation Institute Today's and Tomorrow's Children Fund. Through her ongoing work, she is studying the impact of donor-specific antibodies following liver transplantation.
More recently she has expanded her interests in immune monitoring beyond the realm of transplant to other immunemediated gastrointestinal disorders. She is currently co-director of the UCLA Pediatric Celiac Disease and Eosinophilic Esophagitis Clinic. This multidisciplinary clinic is part of a broader effort called the Gastroenterology, Allergy, Immunology, and Nutrition (GAIN) Project. The GAIN Project offers comprehensive care to children with a wide range of food allergy, food sensitivity, and immune-mediated digestive diseases.
