Hobart Leung, MD

Hobart Leung, MD, is a Community Track Fellow at the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine. Growing up in Toronto, Canada, he developed an early interest in Eastern medicine through his father, a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hobbyist.

Dr. Leung earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY. He further specialized in Hospice & Palliative Medicine at the University of Rochester (Strong Memorial Hospital).

Since completing his medical training, Dr. Leung has focused on serving as a Primary Care Internist in underserved community clinics. His commitment to exploring diverse treatment options led him to pursue training in Clinical Hypnosis, and he is currently working towards certification with the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. Dr. Leung is dedicated to expanding his therapeutic toolkit to provide comprehensive care to patients from all backgrounds, especially those in underserved communities.

Lorien Ahn

Lorien Sunhye Ahn, MD, is an internal medicine physician and clinical instructor at the UCLA Center for East-West Medicine, where she is currently completing a fellowship in integrative medicine. With a deep commitment to whole-person healing, she is training in acupuncture and integrative care approaches that harmonize evidence-based Western medicine with Eastern medicine. Her clinical philosophy centers on the mind–body connection and emphasizes preventive lifestyle practices such as regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and sustainable daily habits.

Dr. Ahn completed her internal medicine residency at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, an institution known for its emphasis on whole-person care. This foundation profoundly shaped her approach to patient wellness. During her years in primary care, she began incorporating lifestyle counseling and preventive strategies into her practice, witnessing the transformative impact of holistic care. Her inspiration to pursue integrative medicine stems from her mother, a doctor of Eastern medicine specializing in herbal medicine and acupuncture.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Ahn enjoys spending time with family, hiking in nature, and practicing Taekwondo.
