Faculty and Staff Announcements

Dr. Hans Gao will complete his two-year ACHD fellowship at UCLA Health in July 2026 and will join the ACHDC faculty. Before coming to UCLA Health, he attended medical school at Brown University, completed his residency at UCSF Medical Center and finished his cardiology fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Gao has proven to be an exceptional congenital cardiologist, demonstrating both a strong understanding of the complexities of ACHD and a warm, caring approach that has earned him the admiration of our patients. In addition to his growing clinical ACHD expertise, Dr. Gao has established himself as a prolific researcher, with multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts in press and presentations at national and international scientific meetings. He will be a wonderful addition to our ACHD faculty

Jooha Park is a family nurse practitioner (FNP) and joined UCLA Health in September 2025 as a pediatric and ACHD electrophysiology nurse practitioner. In her role, she helps manage outpatient care for patients with congenital and acquired heart rhythm disorders and coordinates care for the ACHD Electrophysiology Program, including diagnostic EP procedures, catheter ablations and pacemaker/ICD devices. Jooha has received multiple accolades for her compassionate nursing care and exceptional clinical skills at UCI Medical Center and brings extensive experience in critical care and cardiac surgery. With the complexities of electrophysiology and congenital heart disease, she will be a valuable resource for ACHD patients and help streamline arrhythmia care. She is fluent in both English and Korean.

Tyler Kim joined the ACHD team as a research coordinator in August 2025. Tyler is an accomplished pianist who recently graduated from UCLA summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Society. Tyler will ultimately make important contributions to the field of medicine, with recent work as a hospice volunteer and his current role as a senior behavior technician for the Center for Autism and Related Disorders. As our research coordinator, he aims to expand on his research experience by coordinating multiple studies and clinical trials for the UCLA ACHD team.
