Improving Brain Disease Care Through Genomic Research

The causes of many chronic neurological diseases can be traced to faulty genes. For some conditions, such as Huntington’s disease, the culprit is a single gene. But the genetic factors underlying other common conditions, such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease, still remain unclear.

Researchers at UCLA are working to find solutions to these challenges with one of the country’s first dedicated neurogenomics research programs.

Opportunities to Participate in Neurogenomics Research

UCLA is among the first programs in the world conducting neurogenomics research. 

Participating in CNRC research allows patients to take part in advancing care for their condition. Most UCLA Neurology patients are eligible, and enrollment is ongoing. For most patients, participating is as simple as providing an extra blood sample during an already-scheduled lab visit.
