Total Lost: 80 pounds...and counting*
I used to go to amusement parks all the time, but had to stop when my weight made it impossible to close the safety belt on many rides. I had been thinking about bariatric surgery for some time, but was on the fence for years.
I was scared. It wasn’t until I spoke to my neighbor that I decided to pursue surgery. He told me stories about how his whole life changed for the better after his operation at UCLA, so I decided to finally speak to my primary care doctor for a referral. The help I received from Dr. Chen and his staff has been overwhelmingly great.
They are all so dedicated to service and gave me the push to make lasting changes for my life. A few months ago, I went to Six Flags Magic Mountain and was overjoyed that I could get on the Superman ride without any trouble! I even had some extra room between myself and the safety bar.
Now I can’t stop talking about positive this experience was for me.
