High school entrepreneur introduces UCLA pediatric patients to his 'Fuzzy Stix' creations

WHAT:
Joaquin Horton, a 19-year-old student entrepreneur from Crenshaw High School, will donate 100 boxes of his Fuzzy Stix to pediatric patients at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital and teach them how to create three-dimensional art from the colorful pipe cleaners.

Each patient will receive a box of 1,000 Fuzzy Stix along with Horton's copyrighted manual explaining how to design various objects that patients can enjoy and play with for years to come.

As part of a high school economics class, Horton created and developed his Fuzzy Stix project to help kids discover their creative genius and relieve stress. He submitted his project to Seedplay, a social media company that helps K–12 students realize their dreams of funding and launching projects that positively impact their communities.
