WHAT:
Author Ned Vizzini will discuss his battle with depression and overcoming suicide — a journey that became the inspiration for his novel "It's Kind of a Funny Story." The book was made into a 2010 Focus Features film starring Zach Galifianakis. Following his talk, Vizzini will participate in a Q&A on writing and mental health with UCLA psychiatrist Dr. Bowen Chung.
