UCLA Health hospitals received numerous Healthgrades awards for 2023, with both Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center receiving the coveted Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award™. The 2023 award recipients are among the top 15% of U.S. hospitals that provided a best-in-class hospital experience for patients during the January 2021 through December 2021 study period.
To determine the award winners, Healthgrades evaluated Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health Care Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient survey data against 10 patient experience benchmarks. This analysis identified the organizations that prioritize positive patient experience with unwavering commitment during a short-term, acute care visit.
“We applaud all recipients of the Healthgrades 2023 Outstanding Patient Experience Award for putting patient experience front and center within their organizations,” says Healthgrades Chief Medical Officer Brad Bowman, MD. “We commend these hospitals for their ongoing efforts to prioritize an exceptional patient experience, while ensuring the health and safety of their patients.”

According to a recent Healthgrades survey, 57% of Americans are concerned about the quality of care offered by their doctors and hospitals since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Healthgrades makes it easy for these quality-conscious patients to research and choose a hospital based on third-party, trustworthy data displayed through hospital ratings and awards.
