Seeing the Future

“Today we’re training all the new department coordinators, or the new volunteers coming in who are hoping to have a bigger position in the Care Extender Program,” says Cheryl Huynh, a volunteer at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. “I have an appreciation for all the new staff, our supervisors, our directors, and our managers. You can really see their passion for this program. UCLA Health has been great to us here, and I really appreciate the Care Extender Program. It’s a great learning opportunity to be able to volunteer in the hospital in a variety of different departments. I think a lot of us are pre-med or want to go into the healthcare industry. I could see all of these people in the future and know we all started where we are now.”
