UCLA Health has been recognized as a recipient of the WebMD Choice Awards for excellence in five specialties: Oncology, Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Neurology and Gastroenterology. This is the only hospital-recognition program based solely on the preferences and perceptions of patients and physicians on a local level.
“These awards empower and champion the voice of the patient, giving health systems a greater understanding of how their care is perceived,” says says John Whyte, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, WebMD.
Patient and physician opinions are measured using a market-by-market surveying process conducted through the WebMD owned and operated digital properties. The surveys are run on an annual basis, and awards are announced as results are finalized in target markets.
