A Message From Our President and CEO
As we reflect on the past year, we extend our thanks and appreciation to the more than 5,700 dedicated nursing professionals at UCLA Health. In 2024, our nurses continued to set the standard for excellence in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in our hospitals and clinics, making a profound and lasting impact on patients, their families, and the future of health care.
Our nurses continue to exemplify leadership, advocacy, and healing in every setting. They’ve gone beyond clinic and bedside care to serve as educators, researchers and innovators, helping to drive evidence-based practices, promote health equity and advance patient safety. Their resilience, skill and compassion have elevated our mission and strengthened the care we deliver every day.
Among the many milestones this year, we proudly added UCLA West Valley Medical Center to UCLA Health, along with opening several new clinics across Southern California. We welcomed new nursing team members into our organization at these locations, who are helping us continue our commitment to improving patient access to high-quality care. Our nurses took the lead in developing initiatives to address workplace violence, strengthen nurse-patient connections and shape artificial intelligence tools to enhance the patient experience and improve the nursing practice. We also continued our commitment to nursing education, including expanding health literacy education across UCLA Health Nursing.
These achievements would not have been possible without the commitment and expertise of our nursing teams, who ensure excellence accompanies every step of our growth.
We celebrate the countless moments — big and small — where our nurses have made a difference. From critical, lifesaving interventions to quiet gestures of kindness, their work embodies the heart of health care. Our nurses continue to inspire, lead and uplift us all.
Thank you for an extraordinary year. We honor our nurses, and we look forward to continuing this journey of excellence together.
