Based on the four major components of the Magnet Model®, four Magnet® Councils have been established at SMUCLA which are responsible for empirical outcomes associated with its designated component of the Magnet Model®. Each Magnet Council is guided by its own charter, and is comprised of an elected Chair and Co-chair, and direct care nurses from all nursing units (representing a cross-section of CNIIs, CNIIIs and Administrative nurses, Unit Directors, Clinical Nurse Specialists and ad hoc members). All four Magnet® Councils meet on a monthly basis, and have been at work to ensure the structures and processes are in place to create the groundwork for best patient outcomes and our journey to Magnet® designation. For more information, please take a look at the SMUCLA Magnet Council Structure Summary and SMUCLA Magnet Council Diagram.
