Kaiyti Duffy, MD, MPH

Kaiyti Duffy, MD, MPH (she/her pronouns) is a family medicine physician currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer at the LA LGBT Center.  In this role, Dr. Duffy overseas the provision of all clinical services at the Center and ensures that care is high-quality, evidence-based and trauma informed.  A proud queer-identified woman, Dr. Duffy has dedicated the entirety of her medical career to serving the LGBT community and believes this work to be her sacred calling. Prior to her current position, Dr. Duffy was the Medical Director of the Audre Lorde Health Program at the Center and, before that, the Medical Director at the Broadway Youth Center in Chicago. Dr. Duffy completed her master’s degree in public health at Tulane University and worked in the fields of sexual and reproductive health advocacy for many years before eventually pursuing a career in medicine.  She received her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed family medicine residency at an FQHC-based program in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood. Dr. Duffy, a devoted Chicagoan, moved to Los Angeles in January 2020 when her wife received a faculty appointment at Occidental College. The LA LGBT Center and the city within which it stands are now where Dr. Duffy calls home.
