Dr. Adam Schickedanz is a board-certified pediatrician, health services researcher, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UCLA.

Dr. Schickedanz trained at the University of California San Francisco Medical School before completing his internship and residency through UCSF and San Francisco General Hospital's Pediatric Leadership for the Underserved (PLUS) Program. Dr. Schickedanz served as chief resident in pediatrics at UCSF, then completed fellowships in health services research through the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at UCLA and the UCLA NRSA Primary Care and Health Services Research Fellowship. Through his fellowship training, Dr. Schickedanz earned a doctorate in Health Policy and Management from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. Dr. Schickedanz attended Washington University in St. Louis for his undergraduate education.
Dr. Schickedanz is active in medical education, clinical research, and health services research at UCLA and nationally, in addition to his roles in clinical care. Dr. Schickedanz's work all centers on understanding and addressing the health impacts of childhood adversity, including social, structural, and economic determinants of health.
Dr. Schickedanz is the Chair of the Adverse Childhood Experiences Committee for the American Academy of Pediatrics' Southern California Chapter (Chapter 2), the Region IX Co-Chair for the Academic Pediatric Association, and a member of the Society for Pediatric Research.
