About
Dr. Alec Swinburne is a primary care physician practicing in Pasadena. He is board certified in internal medicine and has served on the faculty in both UCLA's hospital and general internal medicine divisions since 2020.
Dr. Swinburne completed his undergraduate studies at Princeton University, then worked as a middle school teacher in Harlem, NY before completing a masters degree in anthropology at the University of Chicago. He worked for several years for education non-profits in San Francisco, CA before completing his medical school training at Weill Cornell Medical College in 2015, where he served as student body president for 4 years. He came to UCLA for internal medicine residency and has subsequently worked as a hospitalist at Cedars Sinai briefly before returning to UCLA in 2020.
When he's not in the office, Dr. Swinburne enjoys spending time playing saxophone, climbing, finding new types of plants to cultivate in his garden, and gradually coming to understand his son's passion for soccer.
