About

Dr. Arikian (she/her/hers) is a Los Angeles native who attended UCLA as an undergraduate and received her B.S. degrees in Biology with an emphasis on Ecology, Behavior and Evolution. She attended Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. She returned to Southern California to complete her residency at Harbor-UCLA Family Medicine. After residency she did a one-year Chief Residency and Fellowship in Faculty Development at Harbor. She also completed a special project looking at patient attitudes towards alternative medicine.

After training, she took a full-time clinical position at the non-profit Venice Family Clinic, the largest free clinic in the U.S. There she saw primarily uninsured and disadvantaged families, including homeless patients. She eventually became director of the VFC satellite clinic in the Mar Vista Gardens Housing Project, which was later relocated and named the Colen Family Health Center.

After 11 years at VFC, she joined the faculty at UCLA Family Health Center, where she taught family medicine residents and medical students, in addition to caring for patients and helping develop clinic protocols. In 2021, she became the lead physician at UCLA Marina Primary Care, where she continues to care for entire families and patients of all ages. Her primary goal in treating patients is to give them the tools to stay healthy and prevent complications from chronic disease.

Dr. Arikian is married to a neurologist physician and has four school-aged children. She enjoys work, spending time with family, travel, and the outdoors. On her off days she volunteers in her community, walks in her neighborhood with friends, and reads.

My visit went well. I’m beginning to feel a little more comfortable with Dr. Arikian. I don’t like going to doctors or taking medication but I’m willing to make some adjustments in that regard.
