About
Dr. Hyunah Poa is a primary care physician who practices in Palos Verdes. She is board certified in internal medicine, and enjoys teaching medical students, residents and patients about health maintenance.
Dr. Poa grew up in the Midwest and received her medical degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She then completed her internal medicine residency at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
After her residency, Dr. Poa moved to California with her husband, Dr. Li Poa. She joined the UCLA faculty in 1994, and worked at the Iris Cantor-UCLA Women's Health Center until 2000. She then worked part-time in northern California, and later helped start the Stamford Hospital Center for Integrative Medicine and Wellness, serving as director of women's health from 2007 to 2009.
In her free time, Dr. Poa takes kickboxing classes with her husband, practices yoga and plays tennis. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, five children, extended family and friends.

Didn't introduce herself. Was texting on her phone for the first couple minutes of the visit, after being 30 minutes behind schedule. Didn't bother listening to what I was saying and busy hearing herself talk.

Dr. Poa is a fantastic physician. She is incredibly kind and empathetic. I feel very lucky to have her as my primary care provider. The only feedback I have is that she tends to run late. At times, you may have to wait before being seen. The Lvn is so kind and professional.

She left me waiting for over and hour in the exam room. She never came in. I never met her. After an hour they still did not know when she would see me. I needed to leave to get my children. She left me Waiting in an exam room, wearing a robe and never came in for my appointment. I’m very upset and how I was treated.

Dr. Hyunah is amazing as a new patient she addressed the following issues on preventative health care, different types of vaccines needed, breast screening, and so many more including my pain on my left heel thats been bothering me for a month. The experiences I have had with Dr Poa have been so unlike I’ve ever had with any primary doctor. Saying that better than I’ve had with any Dr throughout my life! I could tell from the way she moved that she was in pain but never mentioned it. I brought it up. She never changed the conversation to her but continued to set up referrals for me. I feel as though I’ve won the lottery with Dr Poa. Finally someone is listening to me regarding the pain I’ve been living with for so many years. I have hope again! Thank you so very much Dr Poa!
