About
Dr. Juan M. Alcantar grew up in Oxnard. He attended the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed an internal medicine residency at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. His medical oncology and hematology fellowship was completed at Harbor-UCLA and City of Hope Medical Centers. Prior to completing his fellowship, Dr. Alcantar practiced ambulatory and hospital medicine in Sherman Oaks, California. He was in private practice in hematology/oncology from 2011-2015. Dr. Alcantar is board-certified in internal medicine as well as hematology and oncology. He regularly participates in multi-disciplinary tumor boards to provide optimal and up-to-date treatments for his patients. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive medical care with quality and compassion to his patients. Dr. Alcantar enjoys his spare time with his wife and two sons. He also enjoys soccer and reading on the history of medicine.

I never felt rushed, and I truly appreciated the compassion and professionalism he showed throughout my visit. It’s rare to find a doctor who combines medical expertise with such genuine concern for their patients, and I feel very fortunate to be under his care.

Arrived at 10:35 for a 10:40 appointment within 2 minutes got weighed & had blood pressure checked, saw Doctor Alcantar in less than 10 minutes, made a correction on my chart went over my bloodwork,explained everything that was important . Made another appointment and was out of the parking garage in 30 minutes, best visit ever , thank you very much!
