Kiran Kavipurapu, JD, MPH, DO
Dr. Kavipurapu is an Assistant Clinical Professor and the Associate Residency Program Director of UCLA Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Kavi earned dual doctorate degrees in medicine and law, from Western University of Health Sciences and ULV College of Law, respectively. In addition, he also holds a Masters in Public Health with a focus on Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from the USC Keck School of Medicine. He went on to complete his Obstetrics & Gynecology residency at UCLA-Kern Medical Center.
Dr. Kavi is a Board-Certified Ob/Gyn surgeon with clinical and research interests including general obstetrics and gynecology, high risk pregnancy, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery including the treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, ovarian and adnexal masses, and both laparoscopic and vaginal hysterectomy.
Dr. Kavi is also a licensed California attorney and has additional interests in social justice and reproductive rights, medical-legal implications of health care reform, and quality improvement, which is reflected in his patient care as a strong patient advocate. In his role as Associate Program Director of the Residency Program, Dr. Kavi is very passionate about educating and training our resident Ob/Gyn physicians. In his free time, he loves to go horseback riding, and engage in music and theater, as he was a former Bollywood-style dancer and choreographer.
