
About
Dr. Kiran Mitha is a board-certified general pediatrician in the Division of General Pediatrics at UCLA. She helps train residents and medical students to care for children at UCLA's Children's Health Center in Westwood and supervises in the pediatric urgent care and resident continuity clinic.
Dr. Mitha attended medical school at the UC San Diego School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency training at UCLA. She pursued a fellowship in community medicine at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Mitha's passion is caring for vulnerable communities around the globe. She spent a year working as a visiting pediatric lecturer at the Gulu University Faculty of Medicine in rural Uganda, teaching medical students in a busy pediatric hospital. She leads UCLA's global health partnership with Hospital Regional de Loreto in the Amazon region of Peru and continues to work in East Africa to help build capacity in medical education. She is Co-Director of the Global Health Track in the Department of Pediatrics and a Partner Lead for the Global Health Program at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
