Kristin L. Simmons, NP

Kristin Simmons is a dedicated nurse practitioner with a rich background in healthcare, bringing over 14 years of experience to her role at UCLA. Her journey in nursing began in the intensive care unit, where she spent eight years providing critical care to patients. Transitioning to women's health, Kristin spent six years focusing on the unique healthcare needs of women.
 
In 2018, Kristin earned board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), demonstrating her commitment to excellence in patient care and clinical knowledge advancement.
 
Specializing in contraceptive management, wellness exams, STI screening, family planning, and reproductive health, Kristin brings a comprehensive approach to her practice. Her passion for connecting with patients and creating a supportive environment is evident in her charismatic, warm, and inviting demeanor. She believes in fostering ease and collaboration in the exam room, nurturing connections that continue to grow over the years.
 
Kristin's dedication extends beyond her clinical practice; she is deeply passionate about black maternal health. Recognizing the disparities in maternal healthcare outcomes, Kristin is committed to advocating for equitable care and improving outcomes for black mothers and their babies.
 
Kristin's interest in women's health blossomed during her clinical rotations in graduate school, particularly during her time at the VA hospital in women's primary care. It was there that she discovered her love for caring for women across the lifespan, from adolescence to menopause. Her subsequent experience at Planned Parenthood further solidified her passion for reproductive health and inspired her to continue her journey in this field.
 
At UCLA, Kristin is dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to her patients, advocating for their needs, and empowering them to take control of their reproductive health.
