Lauren E. Dowd, NP

Lauren Dowd is a Nurse Practitioner specializing in women’s health based at UCLA Health’s La Venta Westlake Village location. The office welcomes a diverse community of patients with the goal of providing optimal clinical care and evidence-based medical advice to best serve patients entrusted to her care. Lauren has worked in women’s health for the past 15 years both in the inpatient and outpatient settings at multiple renowned healthcare facilities across the country.  Her areas of expertise include antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn nursery, NICU and PICU care. During her nursing career she has received national recognition for compassionate care, and is most proud of her volunteer work treating and educating women in vulnerable communities.
 
Lauren is a proud graduate of Duquesne Nursing School in Pittsburgh and was happy to live in a city where she celebrated both their hockey and football teams’ national championships. After graduation she moved to Santa Monica, where she began her nursing career at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. She left the California sun to return to her hometown of Chicago where she worked at Rush University Medical Center and NorthShore University HealthSystem, while studying for her masters at
Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing. After graduating she found her Nurse Practitioner niche at the Women’s Group of Northwestern where she saw patients in the office. Additionally she was actively engaged in community outreach teaching women’s health classes at high schools, prenatal and breastfeeding classes to expecting parents, and fertility awareness classes to women in need. Outside her practice you can find her at the beach enjoying a book.
