About

Majid Husain, MD is a Pediatric Cardiologist in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the Mattel Children’s Hospital at UCLA. He recently joined the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine faculty as a clinical instructor in July 2023. Dr. Husain’s clinical focus lies in pediatric heart failure, cardiomyopathy, transplantation, and mechanical support. His research is focused on investigating the complex cardiopulmonary interactions in patients with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and the use of advanced imaging as it pertains to heart transplantation. He is additionally involved in clinical trials aimed at treating children with heart failure. Dr. Husain is also actively involved in medical education and mentorship of undergraduate, medical students, and pediatric residents at UCLA.

Dr. Husain earned his B.S. in Psychobiology from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2009 and M.D. from University of California, Irvine - School of Medicine in 2016. He completed his pediatric internship and residency at the UCI-Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC)-Miller Children’s Hospital (MCH) Pediatric Residency Training Program in 2019, followed by Chief Residency (2019-2020). He returned to UCLA and completed his pediatric cardiology fellowship in 2023 and is currently completing his sub-specialization in pediatric advanced heart failure, transplant, and pulmonary hypertension. He is board certified in Pediatrics through the American Board of Pediatrics and is board-eligible in Pediatric Cardiology. Outside of clinical and academic medicine, Dr. Husain enjoys aquascaping, drawing/painting and cooking.
