Maria L. Gonzalez, MD

Dr. Maria Luisa Gonzalez is a compassionate, board-certification eligible Family Medicine physician who recently completed her residency training at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She is dedicated to providing comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, with a focus on addressing the unique needs of underserved and immigrant communities.

Dr. Gonzalez earned her Medical Doctorate (MD) from the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, earning a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Public Health and Immigration. Dr. Gonzalez practices holistic, patient-centered care, believing that deep cultural understanding and empathy are the most powerful components of medicine.

Her professional interests include nutrition and its effect on health, integrative medicine, and health policy. She was honored with the UCLA Excellence in Teaching with Humanism Award in 2024, a recognition that speaks to her commitment to both educating future clinicians and delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

Born in Mexico, Dr. Gonzalez is a first-generation college graduate who is fluent in Spanish. She draws continuous inspiration from her parents' resilience and work ethic, as well as the unconditional support of her extended family, husband, and the joy she finds in being a mother to her two daughters.
