About

Dr. Marla Lipsyc-Sharf is a breast medical oncologist who practices in Encino and Santa Monica. She treats patients with breast cancer and is a dedicated clinical-translational breast cancer researcher. She has particular expertise in caring for premenopausal women with breast cancer, and her research is focused on young women with breast cancer, hormone receptor positive breast cancers, and prognostic and predictive biomarkers.

Dr. Lipsyc-Sharf received her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in New York, NY where she graduated with membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism honor societies. She completed her internal medicine internship and residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and her medical oncology fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/Mass General Brigham, both in Boston, MA. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in applied mathematics at Columbia University and completed additional training in epidemiology and biostatistics through the Program in Clinical Effectiveness at the Harvard University T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Dr. Lipsyc-Sharf (as well as her staff - assistant and Fellow) were all fantastic! Working to see me as soon as possible as I have Inflammatory Breast Cancer which is a more aggressive and invasive form if Metastatic Breast Cancer. I feel that I am in really good, caring hands with all of them (all my UCLA doctors that I’ve seen for this in fact), and that they are treating this as aggressively (if not more) than the cancer itself is. I am sure I have my very best chance of beating this and feel as optimistic as one can with such a diagnosis. I also feel it’s a shame that Dr. Lipsyc-Sharf does not have a perfect rating due to one review that isn’t all that negative, and isn’t about her really at all! If you have Breast Cancer or any cancer, you’d be lucky to find yourself in her hands!
