About
Dr. Matthew Derakhshesh is a heart failure and transplant cardiologist at UCLA Health, seeing patients at UCLA West Valley and the Ahmanson-UCLA Cardiomyopathy Center. He specializes in the comprehensive management of advanced heart failure, including the evaluation and care of patients considering heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support.
Dr. Derakhshesh completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Albany Medical Center, where he was honored with the Biddle and Doyle Awards for exemplary research and clinical achievements. He went on to complete a fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at UCLA. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
A Los Angeles native, Dr. Derakhshesh is proud to bring his training back home to care for patients in the community where he grew up. He is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals facing complex and advanced heart disease.
