About
Dr. Si is an academic congenital cardiac surgeon with clinical interests in the surgical treatment of neonatal, pediatric, and adult congenital heart disease. Dr. Si's clinical research is in single ventricle heart disease and heart failure in the setting of congenital heart disease. He also has clinical interests in heart valve repair in the setting of congenital heart disease. His laboratory research investigation is focused on delineating the pathophysiology of heart failure and cardiac fibrosis as well as the development of novel therapies for these entities. Specifically, the Si Lab is investigating the developmental and postnatal functional roles of the SLIT-ROBO signaling axis in the cardiovascular system by utilizing diverse in vitro and in vivo experimental approaches. His research team is motivated to make impactful scientific discoveries and to advance the treatment of heart failure.
Dr. Si also performs surgeries at Children's Hospital of Orange County for those who live in the Orange County area.
