About
Dr. Peter Han is a double fellowship-trained facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon and head and neck surgical oncologist. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and serves as Chief of Head and Neck Surgery at Olive View–UCLA Medical Center.
Dr. Han attended Pacific Union College on a full scholarship, where he earned a B.A. in Biology and a B.S. in Film and Television Production. He went on to receive his M.D. from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Loma Linda University, followed by fellowship training in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction at Loma Linda University, and a second fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCLA. He specializes in aesthetic and functional rhinoplasty, skin cancer of the head and neck, facial skin cancer reconstruction, facial neuromodulator treatment for facial nerve disorders and chronic pain, and head and neck oncologic microvascular reconstruction.
His approach to patient care emphasizes thoughtful surgical planning, natural-appearing results, and preservation or restoration of function. Drawing on his training in both cancer surgery and facial plastic surgery, Dr. Han works with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that address each patient’s medical condition, anatomy, goals, and quality of life.
Dr. Han’s academic interests include rhinoplasty biomechanics, outcomes in head and neck endocrine surgery, reconstructive outcomes after head and neck cancer surgery, and the aesthetic implications in head and neck surgery. He is involved in resident education and surgical training at UCLA and Olive View–UCLA Medical Center and serves as the faculty advisor for the head and neck surgery interest group at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.
Dr. Han is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. He is a diplomat of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
