Rabia S. Khan, MD is a Pediatric Cardiologist specializing in the care of children with cardiomyopathy, heart failure, and pulmonary hypertension, including patients requiring mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation. She serves as the director of the UCLA Pediatric Ventricular Assist Device Program. Her clinical interests include cardiomyopathy, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, myocarditis, and ventricular assist devices. Her research interests involve cardiomyopathy genetics, management of cardiomyopathy in Duchenne muscular dystrophy, long-term outcomes of advanced cardiac therapies, and management of myocarditis. She also has a strong interest in medical education.

Dr. Khan recently joined the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine faculty in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology in the summer of 2023. Prior to this, she was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Iowa. She completed a fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in 2020. Prior to that, she completed a fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 2019. She completed a residency in Pediatrics from Washington University in St. Louis in 2015. Dr. Khan earned her medical degree from the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine in 2012.
