About

Dr. Rebecca Tsevat is an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and enjoys practicing evidence-based and patient-centered primary care for patients of all ages at the Santa Monica 16th Street Internal Medicine & Pediatrics Clinic.  

Dr. Tsevat obtained her medical degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. She then completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UCLA, where she also served as the Primary Care Chief Resident for the Internal Medicine residency program. After residency, she completed a health services research fellowship through the National Clinician Scholars Program at UCLA and a master’s degree in Health Policy and Management from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.  Prior to her medical training, she received undergraduate degrees in English Literature and Biology with a minor in Spanish from Washington University in St. Louis, as well as a master’s degree in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Tsevat conducts health services research focused on improving the care of adolescents and young adults with chronic illnesses and adverse childhood experiences. She is also actively involved in medical student and resident education and leads narrative medicine workshops for groups at various stages of training. She has served as an editorial fellow for the Journal of the American Medical Association, and her work has been presented and published widely.

Dr. Tsevat is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society of General Internal Medicine. She also belongs to the Gold Humanism and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Societies. She speaks conversational Spanish and in her free time enjoys reading, running, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
