I am having difficulty communicating with my provider. My most recent appointment to go over cardiac stress test results and cardiac ultrasound was disappointing. He told me my stress test results were good and not so good with little other explanation other than more tests were needed - a cardiac CT with contrast. When I questioned him on the effect of diet and exercise on lowering my LDL cholesterol he said yes both could lower it but provided no other guidance. I am going to go through with the tests he has ordered but will be looking for another cardiologist within UCLA Health to go over the results with me. Heart health is too important and too complex to receive less than satisfactory interactions with a cardiologist. I am sure he is a nice person and is surely qualified but I need a doctor I can talk to who will give me answers and suggestions on improving heart health other than more tests and prescriptions.
