About

Dr. Sophie Mestman Cannon (she/her) is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at the David Geffen UCLA School of Medicine. Her clinical interests include diabetes, thyroid, pituitary, reproductive, adrenal disorders, and gender-affirming care.

Dr. Cannon received her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She went on to complete her internal medicine residency training at the University of California, San Diego. She returned to her home town of Los Angeles to complete her endocrinology fellowship at Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center before joining the faculty at UCLA. Outside of medicine, she enjoys running, camping, hiking, yoga, visiting museums, and travel.

I’m so grateful for Dr. Sophie’s exceptional care and dedication. She is always thorough, attentive, and compassionate. Even though dermatology isn’t her specialty, she took the initiative to quickly contact a dermatologist for me, which truly showed how much she cares about her patients.
