Sylvia C. Rivera, MD

Dr. Sylvia Rivera is an endocrinologist practicing in Goleta. She was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in South Florida. She received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine, later completed Internal Medicine Residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and Endocrinology Fellowship at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She now lives with her husband and children in Santa Barbara, California. 

Dr. Rivera sees patients with diabetes mellitus, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal and pituitary disorders, osteoporosis/osteopenia, as well as reproductive disorders including polycystic ovarian syndrome and hypogonadism. She has special interest in thyroid disease in pregnancy and diabetes in pregnancy.

In her spare time, Dr. Rivera enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, traveling, reading, listening and dancing to music.
