About

Dr Victoria Shin is a Primary Care & Sports Medicine Physician at the UCLA Health in Culver City.  Her specialties include sports medicine, joint injections, integrative medicine, osteopathic medicine, mental health, homeless health care and urgent care. Dr Shin grew up in Oklahoma City, OK and completed her undergraduate education with a Bachelors in Biochemistry at the University of Oklahoma. She transplanted to California for graduate studies in Cross-Cultural Health at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. She then completed her medical school education at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, where she received training in osteopathic manipulative medicine and was awarded the US Air Force Health Professions Scholarship. Upon graduation, she completed post-graduate studies in integrative medicine through the University of Arizona and Emperor’s College. She then moved to the east coast to complete her internship year at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Dr Shin received her assignment for the US Air Force as a Flight Surgeon and General Medical Officer at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, IL.  Following this, she volunteered for an assignment at Gunsan Air Force Base in the Republic of Korea. After being honorably discharged, she returned stateside to complete her graduate medical training at the UC Davis Family Medicine Residency in Sacramento, CA and completed the UC Irvine/UC Davis Primary Care Psychiatry fellowship during her final year. She returned to Southern California and trained in Sports Medicine Fellowship at UC Riverside / Riverside University Health System, working with two D-1 athletic teams and performing ultrasound guided injections. She continues to be involved in community outreach efforts through the UCLA Homeless Health Care Initiative and Care Harbor Free Health Clinics. Dr Shin believes in patient-centered care through shared-decision making and providing whole care for the patient. She uses traditional medicine along with her background in osteopathic and musculoskeletal medicine adding integrative & holistic approaches. She tailors her treatment to each patient’s needs and their physical and psycho-emotional conditions. In her free time, she spends it with family & friends and enjoys traveling, music and yoga.  Her professional memberships include ABFM and AMSSM.
