About

Dr. Sidharth Anand is a medical oncologist and hematologist who practices in Santa Monica and Westlake Village. He is a generalist with a specialized interest in gastrointestinal cancers, including colorectal, pancreatic and gastric cancers. He also has an interest in the application of integrative oncology, which means approaching cancer care with traditional therapies, such as chemotherapy and immunotherapy, along with evidence-based integrative methods, including nutrition and exercise, while working closely with the Simms/Mann – UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology.

Dr. Anand received his medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, where he was awarded dean's list for all years and served as president of the student body. Prior to that, he earned his Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, which contributed to his interest in informatics and health services research. He completed a dual undergraduate degree and received a BA in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology and a BS in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Anand completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was chief resident and received the Leo Rigler Award for clinical excellence. He then spent a year as the associate medical director for the Saban Community Clinic, which provides primary care services to underserved Los Angeles communities. He completed his hematology-oncology fellowship at UCLA, during which time he was involved with projects to help promote advanced care planning and built a clinical trials database and search engine for providers to learn about UCLA's available trials and improve accrual.

Prior to joining UCLA Health, Dr. Anand also practiced as an internist and served as medical director of a venture backed informatics company. He is specifically interested in using technology to deliver higher quality and more efficient cancer care by improving symptom monitoring and access to clinical trials.

Dr. Anand is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the American College of Physicians, among other professional organizations. He was raised in Southern California, and when he's not working, he enjoys beach activities, such as swimming and surfing, and spending time with his family and friends.
