Vaccine Information: What You Need to Know
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) recommends that everyone ages 6 months and older should have access and the choice to receive COVID-19 vaccines.
UCLA Health offers the 2026–2027 Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for patients ages 12 years and older and the 2026–2027 Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for patients ages 6 months to 11 years. UCLA Health does not carry the mNexspike or Nuvaxovid COVID-19 vaccines.
Most insurance plans have assured that they will cover the cost of 2026-27 COVID-19 vaccines. Please check with your individual insurance plan if you are unsure.
Who Should Get the COVID-19 Vaccine?
Everyone 6 months of age and older should have the option to get the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the CDPH. It also stresses the importance of extra safeguards for populations who are more susceptible to serious illness, such as:
- Infants and toddlers
- Pregnant people
- Others who are at higher risk for serious illness
For patients who are immunocompromised or have other special circumstances, please talk to your doctor about the best plan for your health, as additional doses may be appropriate.
Access Your COVID-19 Immunization Record
You can find your COVID-19 vaccine record within myUCLAhealth under Immunizations.
You can also request your record through the California Department of Public Health’s Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record website. Please note that UCLA Health has no control over the state vaccine record website. If you have any questions, please see their FAQ or call 833-422-4255.
Schedule your appointment
UCLA Health patients can now schedule their COVID-19 vaccine directly in myUCLAhealth by following the steps below.
- Login and select “Visits/Clinical Notes” from the top navigation, and then select "Schedule an Appointment."
- Choose “COVID Vaccine” as the reason for your appointment.
- Answer a couple of COVID vaccine-related questions.
- Choose the location, date and time that works for you.
- Verify details and schedule.
If you are scheduling an appointment for your child or someone else who you have proxy access for, select their name before you navigate to “Schedule an Appointment.
If you would like to schedule a COVID vaccine appointment for a child under 2 years of age, a provider order is required. Please send a message to or call the child’s primary care doctor’s office to request an order.
