UCLA Health to advise Chinese firm in development of Western-hospital in China

Agreement defines concrete consulting activities that UCLA Health will undertake with R & F Properties in Guangzhou, China

LOS ANGELES — On Nov. 2, UCLA Health signed an agreement to advise R & F Properties in the development of a new, state-of-the-art, Western-style hospital in Guangzhou, China. This project focuses on bringing clinical excellence, superb patient experience, technology, and access to the region.

The agreement between UCLA Health and R&F Properties, one of the leading property developers in mainland China, was signed in Guangzhou in a ceremony attended by Chinese and U.S. dignitaries, including U.S. Ambassador Max Baucus and Consul General Charles Bennett, and R&F Properties Chairman Zhang Li and Senior Vice President Simon Zhuang. The agreement is UCLA Health's first significant venture into international hospital consulting and opens the door toward a more active, influential, and sustainable role in one of health care's most rapidly evolving regions.
