The program will train pediatric healthcare professionals in integrative medicine, host mindbody workshops, and provide educational resources.

Under the direction of Dr. Edward Hui, contributions to this fund will support the continued growth and scaling of the Center for East-West Medicine's robust portfolio of clinical, research, educational and community engagement endeavors to improve health, well-being and quality of life that is safe, effective, affordable and accessible for people, families and communities.

UCLA Center for East-West Integrative Medicine Fellowship is one of the longest running and largest integrative medicine training programs in the country. We are one of twenty integrative medicine fellowship programs recognized by the American Board of Integrative Medicine. Of the twenty programs, our fellowship program is the only one with a specialty in blending evidence-based integrative medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine and conventional biomedicine. Our fellows are board-certified physicians in Family or Internal medicine and are trained to assess and provide whole person care using all appropriate evidence-informed therapies for complex chronic illnesses. Under the direction of Dr. Katie Hu, contributions to this fund will support the education and training of fellows.

The International and Community Engagement Fund has been established to support two main goals:

  • Disseminate integrative medicine worldwide by fostering international collaborations and training the next generation of leaders.
  • Develop culturally sensitive, community-centered and family focused education programs to improve healthcare quality and access. Your support for this fund will benefit communities in the US and globally for many years to come.

This fund was established in memory Mrs. Shirley Hui, late wife of Dr. Ka-Kit Hui, the Center’s Founder and Director. Without her staunch support of Dr. Hui as a young medical student, his dream of building the Center for East-West Medicine would not have been realized. This fund supports individuals to train in integrative medicine and develop innovative ways to improve healthcare globally. Previous scholars supported by this fund.
