Med-Peds Residency Curriculum
Schedule Features
12 Month Intern Year – residents become supervising senior residents as R2’s alongside their categorical co-residents
Scheduling system – we are one of the few Med-Peds programs in the country to have an x+y system in place for both medicine and pediatrics
Switches – residents switch between pediatric and medicine rotations approximately every 2-3 months
Vacation – 28 days of vacation per academic year with an additional 5 days off during the winter holidays when on a pediatric rotation. An additional week off at the end of intern year (“intern week”) and an “intern skip day” on pediatrics
Grand Rounds – monthly Med-Peds grand rounds with faculty and residents that include program developments, journal club, senior talks. Quarterly resident wellness activities also included.
Retreats – Fall and Spring retreats for both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, as well as a dedicated Med-Peds retreat in the Spring
