The Med-Peds Primary Care Training and Enhancement program is currently developing trainings with the following insitutional partners:
Charles R. Drew University
Charles R. Drew University, the only dually designated Historically Black Graduate Institution and Hispanic Serving Health Professions School in the nation, opened its College of Medicine to 60 brand-new medical students on July 10, 2023. With the opening of the medical school, CDU will have the only Historically Black medical school west of the Mississippi.
Riverside University Health System
Riverside University Health System in Moreno Valley, California started its internal medicine residency program in July 2021 and will graduate its first class of residents in June 2024. RUHS was designated a Rural Referral Center by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in 2021 because of its location and the patient population served.
As both CDU COM and RUHS begin to propel the next generation of healthcare professionals serving underserved populations, ensuring that their primary care trainees are equipped to support P/IDD and LEP populations is of critical importance.
