On January 24 and January 26, Dr. Alice Kuo, Dr. Denise Nunez, Dr. Emily Hotez, and Dr. Julianna Rava visited Charles R. Drew University and met faculty, community engagement advisors, and medical students for meaningful discussions around curriculum development for the Primary Care Training and Enhancement-Language and Disability Access program. Participants explored ways to enhance medical education for students to better serve individuals with disabilities and/or limited English proficiency.

The highlight of the collaborative event consisted of powerful insights medical students added to the conversation and the collective enthusiasm and passion shared for the program's mission. The events concluded with an exciting tour of the campus, led by our CDU hosts Dr. Angela Venegas-Murillo and Dr. Arthur Gomez. The excursion included an interactive session with CDU’s advanced 3D technology used for anatomy education (Anatomage Inc, and VR), and was followed by a tour of local community resources, such as Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital and the Special Needs Network’s Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities.
