Immigrant doctors trained to help bridge major gaps in care

No one would argue that the United States has a significant shortage of primary care physicians, or that California's shortage is extreme. A program at UCLA aims to help ease that shortage by helping physician-trained legal immigrants -- that is, those who have already graduated from a medical school outside of the U.S, Puerto Rico or Canada – pass their U.S. licensing exams and obtain U.S. residency training in Family Medicine.

Angel City Celebration

Our UCLA IMG Program scholars volunteered with the Health Fair at this year's Angel City Celebration, the annual event led by the Rotary Club of Los Angeles to improve the quality of life for underserved families with young children in South LA. Wellness check-ups, medical specialty consultations, and more!
