On behalf of Jamil Aboulhosn, MD, director of the Ahmanson/UCLA Adult Congenital Heart Disease Center, our ACHD team is so grateful to Mr. Peter Morton whose generous contributions and continued support to fund congenital heart screenings for people who are uninsured or underinsured. Tests, including CT scans, MRI’s, echocardiograms and cardiac stress tests will be available to patients thought to have congenital heart disease or congenital coronary abnormalities. The Adult Congenital Heart Disease Center at UCLA was founded in 1980 by Dr. Joseph K. Perloff, with the collaboration of Dr. John Child and nurse specialist Mary Canobbio.


3-D Printed Model Used for Heart Valve Replacement

UCLA doctors use 3-D printed model to guide tricky heart valve replacement.

The 3-D model, which was created using a CT scan of a patient's heart, was made of a silicon-like material with properties similar to tissues and other structures in the heart. Read full story
