“This is my Christmas. I’m not happy, and I don’t have the Christmas spirit until I do this,” affirms Roberto Calderon, a captain for United Airlines. Calderon has delivered Ben Flyin Adventure Bears to patients at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica for the past ten years. “UCLA Health says, ‘You’re coming to the hospital, but we’re going to make you comfortable. It’s not home, but maybe we can try to simulate home.’ This is the right thing to do. Showing love and seeing people show love to the kids and their futures is a program worth supporting and worth keeping. Especially nowadays, when things are not going well in many aspects of our lives. I always look forward to this and am grateful I can participate in this program.”
