“We host art workshops every quarter on different units of the hospital”,” explains Talya Katzman, supervisor for volunteer services at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica. “It’s a fun, creative way to get patients out of their rooms, to take their mind off things, and to have fun doing crafts with each other. It’s also for staff, families, or anyone who wants to join. Today we’re making water bottles, holiday cards, and ornaments. We have a harpist playing, so it’s a relaxing, fun mood. Everyone is having a great time.”
